How it works
a. Select a stallion from those listed on the Stallion Exchange website.
If you wish to see more complete details of the selected stallion, click
on the appropriate stallion link .
b. Choose the type of conditions under which you wish to make an offer. – Live
Foal Guarantee, No Guarantee, Free Return or Share.
c. Look at the advertised service fee and submit an offer for the service
fee that you are prepared to offer. All offers will be reviewed and submitted
to our pool of contacts. (Offers should be realistic or they are likely to
be rejected.) If a stallion is shown as book full you can
still submit a bid, but it is only likely that an offer would be accepted
if it is higher than the advertised fee. (There may be shareholders prepared
to accept a higher offer)
d. Notification of whether the offer is accepted will be made within
48 hours.
e. The fees applied by Stallion Exchange for this service are detailed in
the table below (conditions apply). They are expressed in the currency of
the country where the stallion is standing. These fees are due and payable
immediately upon notification of acceptance of your offer. Payment to
be made by credit card at the fee appropriate to the agreed service
fee. "The Stallion Exchange reserves the right to change these
fee structures at any time and in line with normal increases in consumer
indexes. All parties that are registered with Stex will be notified of any
changes to these fees at the time they occur."

e. Acceptance of an offer represents a contract between the mare owner and
the representatives of the stallion and obligates the mare owner to pay the
appropriate service fee and any other associated charges so mare owners should
be aware that any offer made is not a bid but A LIVE OFFER.
f. Once payment is received a Notice of Sale will be issued to both the
person making the offer and the stallion owner, detailing the mare concerned
in the offer and the terms.
g. On receipt of the Notice of Sale the mare owner may then proceed with
final booking arrangements for the mare with the stud at which the stallion
stands.
h. It is important to be aware that as the submission of an offer is a
live offer there is an implied obligation that you will pay the amount offered
and that if you are notified that an offer is accepted you have entered into
a contract to proceed with sending the mare to the stallion under the agreed
conditions and to pay the appropriate costs.
i. Submission of an offer does not guarantee season will be available at the
offer price and/or available to the stallion selected.
